How To Become A Person Of Value pt. 2

Image
INTRODUCTION  In part one of this post, we were able to establish the concept of value and becoming a person of value from an earthly perspective. Here is the link to that post.  This part of the post will focus on the concept of value and the dynamics of becoming a person of value from an eternal standpoint.  Man is an eternal being and once his time on earth is over he will inevitably return to that state. But what happens when that time comes is a result of what we do now, here on earth.  Every action is a vibration in eternity. Every deed in time is a seed that will one day be harvested in eternity. It is futile to argue this fact because as surely as the sun that rises from the east, every day we spend on earth only draws us closer to this reality.  Knowing this, how then can someone become a person of value in eternity? How can one sow those seeds in time that will produce a profitable harvest in eternity?  This is not a repitition of what has already...

Message Review: (Week 4) Walking In Your Purpose

Title:  Walking In Your Purpose  Speaker:  Apostle Joshua Selman  Review by:  Isaac Beke AFFIRMATION  I was born for a reason.  I am not a biological accident.  I am not one of the many people in the eaeth I have an assignment  I have a mandate.  I have an anointing.  I have a destiny.  INTRODUCTION  The World is full of people who found themselves in the middle of time, didn't know why they were born and they died without discovering why they came upon the surface of the earth.  There is nothing as tragic as a man who lives on the surface of the earth without knowing the reason he was born and what he was mandated to do upon the surface of the earth.  Definition   (Purpose)  The intent for manufacturing a product.  The purpose of a thing is the reason for its existence.  God is a God of purpose. He does not create anything without a reason.  Everyone of us have an assignment earmark...

How to become a person of value pt. 1

Introduction  Many people have balloon ideas about the true meaning of value and what it means to be valuable. There are many definitions today about the concept of value and most of these definitions are either incongruent with the subject matter or are totally fallacious. The advent of social media has introduced new terminologies into our lexicon making it more difficult for the average young person to come to terms with the true meaning of the word "value".  For some being a person of value is measured by how many likes or comments a pictures gets. For others, being a person of value is synonymous with a fat bank account or a nice car.  While the possession of all these things are not bad in themselves, they fall short in communicating in its entirety and essence what it means to be a person of value both from an earthly perspective and from an eternal point of view.  In other to do proper justice to this discourse, we have divided this post into two parts. Part ...

Understanding Relationships pt. 5 - Levels of relationships (The Jesus Model)

Image
INTRODUCTION  Jesus was definite about everything He did including His relationships. He was not emotional about choosing those that surrounded Him neither did He assume that everyone thought well of Him.  The Jesus model of relationship shows us that there are eight levels or kinds of people that surrounds every success oriented individual and knowing how to navigate through each level requires deep wisdom.  This model makes no room for the basic considerations that the average individual makes before going into a relationship such as emotional connection, social status, cultural affiliations or religious orientation.  It leaves no place for assumptions, for emotionalism or for an entitlement mentality due to proximity.  The Jesus model of relationship is centered around three things  1. Purpose  2. Loyalty   3. Fulfilment of God's vision.  Every individual was selected and prioritized based on the level of their alignment with the abov...

FIVE WAYS TO IDENTIFY QUALITY PEOPLE  (continued)  2. VISIONARY To be visionary is beyond having positive ideas of the future. Many people have all kinds of balloon ideas about the future, that doesn't make them visionary.  To be visionary is to have a clear and compelling picture of the future.  What some people call vision is not compelling because it is vague. They are not even inspired by it. Such people are empty talkers.  If you want to build relationships that last, follow the path of those that have vision. By doing this, you will be purchasing tomorrow. It was Dr. Olumide Emmanuel that said, "The future is cheap if you buy it today." Don't just appear in people's future and expect to have a stake if you ignored them when they were small.  Some of our parents literally threw away gold mines simply by ignoring someone that seemed poor when they were younger. Only to turn on the television many years later and the same person they despised was now the...

Message Review: (Week 3) Buy The Truth

Image
Mesaage title:  Buy The Truth  Speaker:  Apostle Joshua Selman  Reviewed by:  Isaac Beke INTRODUCTION  Any destiny that desires advancement and to the see the fulness of the life and the power of God find expression through it must understand the power of truth. To sell the truth is to part ways with it.  The factor that distinguishes men in the Kingdom is the degree to which they have access to this treasure that the Bible calls truth.  Dominion is not an impartation. It the resultant effect of the value that an individual has placed towards his pursuit for truth.  Any two people are distinguished in life and destiny to the degree that they pursue and seek truth.  The pursuit of truth will cost you. Accessing the truth does not come at the instance of your seeking it alone. It is a product of exchange.  The receipt for buying the truth is a life of exploit.  Truth only resides in the word. The word of God is the exclusive comp...

PRINCIPLES FOR SUSTAINABLE RELATIONSHIPS (continued)  3. BE AN ACTIVE CONTRIBUTOR  Relationships require the active participation of every party involved in order to thrive. Never be a part of any relationship if you are not willing to be an active contributor.  Don't be a spectator "let's see how this goes"  Don't be a parasite "what's in it for me"  Don't be selfish "my way or the high way"  Don't be a difficult person "I am always right"  Don't be a toxic person "you are nothing without me"  Be a contributor "how can we make this happen"  Let people miss you when you are absent and let them enjoy your company when you are present. Challenge yourself to give more than you take. Let me reiterate a point I made earlier, nobody wants to hang around a parasite. People will discard you and close the door against you in a heart bit when they notice your parasitic tendencies.  Be more conscious about  gi...

Understanding Relationships pt. 2

PRINCIPLES FOR SUSTAINABLE RELATIONSHIPS  Everything that lasts must be built on principles. Failure to do so is a recipe for failure in itself. It is dangerous to build anything on emotions. Most ladies meet the right person that they should get married to but they refuse to because "they are not emotionally connected to him".  This is why most beautiful ladies in their late thirties and above are still single. Some remain in abusive and harmful relationships and when you try to point out the obvious, they reply, "But I love him." Yet the end result of such people is utter frustration and regrets.  While there are various kinds of relationships, the same principles apply across board. Again, It is important for you to build your relationships on principles and not on emotions. Emotions are valuable but they are not always correct and they do not guarantee success.  One reason why you should build quality relationships is because no one thrives in isolation as we es...
