INTRODUCTION 

In part one of this post, we were able to establish the concept of value and becoming a person of value from an earthly perspective. Here is the link to that post. 

This part of the post will focus on the concept of value and the dynamics of becoming a person of value from an eternal standpoint. 

Man is an eternal being and once his time on earth is over he will inevitably return to that state. But what happens when that time comes is a result of what we do now, here on earth. 

Every action is a vibration in eternity. Every deed in time is a seed that will one day be harvested in eternity. It is futile to argue this fact because as surely as the sun that rises from the east, every day we spend on earth only draws us closer to this reality. 

Knowing this, how then can someone become a person of value in eternity? How can one sow those seeds in time that will produce a profitable harvest in eternity? 

This is not a repitition of what has already been communicated neither does it replace what was said in the other post. On the contrary, this post is designed to compliment the other post and give balance to our pursuit to become valuable. 

OBJECTIVES

The objective of this post is twofold:

1. To debunk the erroneous concepts related to value and being valuable. 

2. To present you with the principles that make for eternal relevance. 

It is possible to be valuable on earth and be a disaster from an eternal perspective. It is also possible to be valuable from an eternal perspective and be useless on earth. 

Our goal however, is to ensure that you become valuable both from an earthly standpoint and from an eternal perspective. 

MYTHS

These are superstitious beliefs that people carry about the concept of  value from an eternal perspective. 

1. I have a good heart.

2. I go to church. 

3. I don't hurt people. 

4. I don't believe in religion. 

5. I am a religious person. 

6. I give tithe and offerings. 


 WHAT IS VALUE? (Scriptural Perspective) 

1. Value is any earthly investment that ADDS quality to your eternal records.

2. The gifts, talents and potentials in every individual is also regarded as value. 

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE VALUABLE?

1. To have a personal relationship with your Creator through His Son Jesus Christ. 

2. To live every moment pleasing your Creator. 

3. To commit your time and resources to His service. 

There are treasures in every human being. These treasures are intrinsic, they are in you  even before you were born. But the treasures in eternity that are allotted to you are a result of what you do with your time and resources on earth. 

HOW TO BECOME A PERSON OF VALUE IN ETERNITY

Remember our focus in this series is first of all about becoming before it is about doing. Whether from an earthly perspective or from an eternal perspective, becoming a person of value has to do with subscribing to a new paradigm. 

1. REGENERATION 

The word 'regeneration' is a compound word consisting of three separate words re-gene-tion. This is the precess of renewal. In a nutshell it is the process of receiving a new gene. 

Gene, according to biology is the basic unit of heredity that is passed from parent to child. In other words, genes carry the hereditary information from one generation to the next. (Source: Google). 

What happens when someone's gene is tampere with? It affects the physical traits and other characteristics of every offspring that comes from that gene. And when those offspring live in that state for long without the knowledge of what happened to the gene of their progenitor, this abnormal state has the tendency to become the new normal. 

All of humanity has been traced down to one man; Adam. He is said to be the progenitor of all humanity. And his gene was corrupted when he disobeyed God in the garden of Eden. This distortion in the gene of Adam produced offsprings that were eveil intrinsically and hostile to their Creator. 

Jesus Christ came with a gene that was not flawed in anyway by the mutation in the Adamic gene so that through genuine faith in him, all of humanity can be regenerated and therefore be completely free from every liability that came from the former gene. 

This is the entry point for anyone that has the desire to be a person of value in eternity. To skip this point will only leave an individual in jeopardy with respect to the subject matter. Being renegerated is a must for anyone who wants to be valuable from an eternal standpoint. 

2. SEEK TO KNOW GOD PERSONALLY 

The knowledge of God that most people have was passed down to them by a teacher, a Pastor or someone by the way side and most of that information is largely inaccurate. 

You will know this by the kind of statements people make about God. 

a. "God is a mystery". If God were a mystery why would He invite us to know Him? 

A mystery is something secret and unexplainable. God is explainable. His ways are higher than the ways of men but they can be explained. 

It is the glory of God to conceal a matter but it is the honour of Kings to search it out. There are times you will need to know God by searching the knowledge of Him from what He has said and there are times that you will require patience to know Him. 

b. "God is an idea" God is a person. These philosophical propositions have stemmed out of an imbalance knowledge of God. 

*GOD's Message: "Don't let the wise brag of their wisdom. Don't let heroes brag of their exploits. Don't let the rich brag of their riches. 

If you brag, brag of this and this only: That you understand and know me. I'm GOD, and I act in loyal love. I do what's right and set things right and fair, and delight in those who do the same things. These are my trademarks." GOD's Decree. [JC] 

The desire of God, who is the Creator is that man will know and have an intimate relationship with Him. It has never been His desire to stay away from man. His first reason for creating man is to fellowship with him and through regeneration the platform is reestablished for fellowship between God and man to take place once again. 

3. COMMIT YOUR TIME AND RESOURCES TO THE SERVICE OF GOD 

Service and giving is proof of passion. The fact that your treasure is not there is proof that your heart is not also there. 

Every act of genuine service or giving to God is an investment in your eternal storage. Jesus said

Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: 

What we call giving and service on earth God calls treasure. Only a fool despises that which is treasurable. Through regeneration we are able to convert our earthly resources into treasures in eternity. Everytime we refrain from serving the purposes of God and committing our resources to the same, we only end up robbing ourself of this great privilege. 

As someone that has been regeneratted, it is our duty to focus our attention on becoming valuable in eternity. Paul said:

If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. 

4. BE KIND TO YOUR NEIGHBOUR 

Life lived for vain ambition and self aggrandizement is a wasted life. One proof of genuine regeneration is your willingness to help those around you and to sow acts of kindness whenever the need arises. 

Regeneration puts you in a position to become an extension of God's love and kindness to those around you, and each time you respond to that call your life is counted as valuable from an eternal standpoint. 

Little acts of kindness, done for the right reason sends the right vibration in eternity. Acts of selfishness will only rob you of the privilege to write your name in gold as far as eternity is concerned. 

SUMMARY 

Becoming a person of value from an eternal standpoint is the effect of being regeneratted and practicing the above points. 

There are many propositions with reference to our subject matter, however when it comes to the matter of eternity it is too delicate therefore it is important for us to hear from the Creator Himself. 

What has been presented in this post is not the product of mental activity neither is it the figment of human imagination. What has been presented in this post is the word of God in truth.
